Serger Machine Basics
In Serger Basics you will learn the following skills:
- How to properly clean your machine
- Using the correct needles for your fabric and thread
- How to thread any serger
- How to verify accurate threading
- Complete a test sew
- How to adjust each of the tension settings to achieve optimum stitch quality
- Adjusting stitch width and length
Bring with you to class:
1. Serger with power cord and foot pedal and manual
2. 1/2 yard of fabric to use for test sew
3. Serger Tools-screwdriver that will remove your needles, long tweezers,
sewing machine oil, new needles (Universal overlock needles, size 80/14
4. one cone of each colored thread- red, yellow, blue, green
5. small thread snips
6. stileto
